The Listening Mothers™ class offers a unique opportunity for parents of babies birth through six months of age to discover the joys of parenting. Our science based curriculum will help you turn the present moment into a positive moment!

The Community of Mindful Parenting aspires to empower families to become more mindful and compassionate. They are a multigenerational, multicultural and fully inclusive community that strives to nurture powerful relationships between parents/caregivers and their children. Their Listening Mothers and Finding Calm classes explore the relationship between caregiver and child through a lens of self compassion.

Maria Gehl, MSW, has a Master of Social Work from the University of Washington and over 25 years experience working across a variety of disciplines serving children and families. As a parent and in supporting other families and children, she has witnessed the profound impact of the earliest experiences on every aspect of development, relationship and health. As a result, she has developed a passion for and commitment to supporting those early relationships with a spirit of joy and inquiry. In addition to being a Listening Mothers™ facilitator, she oversees the training and consultation for the implementation of a federal home visiting program for very young children which is housed at ZERO TO THREE
